Abstract
The focus of this article is cellular network planning problem. Due to network complexity, these tasks require intelligent, automated approaches that are able to deal with many factors in order to enable design of high capacity networks with a high service quality at the lowest possible cost. The necessity of optimization of the design solutions is shown. Multi-criteria approach to planning second and third generation systems is represented. Also the technique of forming a system of allowable options by genetic algorithms and selecting of a single optimal solution using the analytic hierarchy process is compiled.
Keywords
telecommunications networks, cellular network planning, multi-objective optimization, metaheuristics, genetic algorithms, Pareto criterion, analytic hierarchy process.
