Abstract
For modern microprocessors, performance evaluation based on clock frequency loses its meaning owing to existence of multiple cores and arithmetic coprocessors. The term ‘Peak performance’ ̶ a quantity of operations with floating point in a second is used for description of performance. SRISA RAS has designed the family of microprocessors with KOMDIV architecture. This article is devoted to a problem of demonstration of the maximum performance of microprocessors during their tests The performance of a microprocessor’s core on integer operations is lower than the performance of a specialized coprocessor on real or complex numbers operations. Therefore, the programs that are using the arithmetic coprocessor and methods of their optimization are of interest. Some ways for testing microprocessors performance discussed in the article. The method to confirm a compliance of a prototype to the specification requirement is suggested in the conclusion.
