Abstract
This paper describes a system approach to design of transceiver ICs for UHF RFID, wireless, navigation and radar systems.
Based on presented approach the transceiver’s hard IP-cores parameters have been evaluated in conjunction with required characteristics of complete RFID system (ISO 18000-6). The transceiver’s hard IP-cores have been designed.
A UHF reader transceiver has direct-conversion architecture and consist of UHF transmit and receive path, frequency synthesizer. Fabricated on a SiGe BiCMOS 0.42/0.25um process, the transceiver was implemented as “system-in-package” in LTCC-module.
