Communication fabric IP-core for a system-on-chip

Abstract
 VLSI technology progress allows developer to integrate a large number of components on a chip. Therefore one of the most important tasks is to provide an effective communication of IP-cores. The modular parameterizable communication fabric with configurable architecture is described in this article. This IP-core allows user to implement communication fabrics with varying complexities: from single crossbar switch to distributed multilayered structure. Architectural methods to improve the performance of communication fabric are studied.
