Abstract
The method for power minimization of finite state machines (FSMs) by internal state splitting is considered. Two heuristic algorithms for FSM power reduction by internal state splitting are proposed, with big and small computational complexity, which proved to be close in efficiency. Experimental research results showed that the proposed approach allows to reduce FSM power consumption in 73% of cases, thus decrease in power consumption is, on average, 7,25% and for some examples – 81%.
