Error control coding for submicron dynamic RAM

Abstract
 According to chips number, redundancy and coder-decoder performance criteria in the absence of multi-bit upsets the best error control coding method for submicron dynamic RAM failure protection is single byte error recover method. In case of multi-bit outsets the best according to chips number criterion is method exploiting Chipkill technology with error control coding correcting burst errors.
