Abstract
Special features of designing LVDS drivers and receivers, which are intended for application in serial data links of the SpaceWire and RapidIO types at a speed up to 1 Gbit/s and have been manufactured with help of the 0,25/0,18/0,13 ìm CMOS technology are discussed.
The invariant to technology method of designing such drivers and receivers is presented. The
topicality of expanding the working frequency range towards not only high but also relatively
low frequencies as well as the topicality of providing the predominant by applied standards state of channel in emergency cases (broken- or short-circuit at receiver input) are stressed. The
different variants of solving such problems are considered. The modeling results and measured
characteristics of the designed and manufactured LVDS drivers and receivers are given.
Keywords
LVDS drivers and receivers, RapidIO, SpaceWire, data link, emergency cases, IP blocks.
