Level Quantization Impact on Accuracy of Fast Fourier Transform Algorithm

Abstract
 The paper continues a study presented at the previous conference and deals with level quantization impact on accuracy of direct and fast methods of Fourier transform calculation. Mathematical modeling of harmonic signal’s and DFT and FFT basis functions’ samples level quantization is performed. We construct and plot characteristics – dependencies of signal’s frequency, amplitude, and initial phase on quantization levels number. The comparison of numerical test results shows that it is necessary to take account errors due to fast algorithm application in modern microelectronics hardware and software devices with a small memory cell bit number.
