Abstract |
| The paper deals with a study of the signal quantization level number impact on the accuracy of spectral analysis results obtained by means of discrete Fourier transform. In addition to quantization we consider the overflow effect – the signal cutting per level due to shortage of the quantization device bits. A formula is derived for transforming an arbitrary real number to its nearest quantization level. We perform numerical modeling of level-quantized realizations of basis components of variable processes – harmonic oscillations (pure ones and mixed with noise). We create characteristics – dependencies between program-assigned signal parameters and those measured in the course of digital processing under various quantization conditions. |
