Abstract |
| The paper discusses methods of debugging, that is, identifying and correcting errors in digital system designs, specified by the circuit diagram of hardware and the text of software or firmware. Debugging on a manufactured prototype of hardware and on a software model of a digital system, as well as on a combination of a real hardware blocks and a software model of the rest of the system is considered. Methods of organization of debugging modes for all considered methods are analyzed. It is indicated that for digital systems on a chip the most effective method is to debug a design on a software model. |
